Mothers Help

DUTIES INCLUDE:

• Assisting with childcare such as playing with children, helping with homework, and engaging in age-appropriate activities.
• Support with nursery or school drop-offs and pick-ups.
• Preparing meals, snacks, and sometimes helping with meal planning.
• Light housekeeping: tidying play areas, children ‘s laundry, ironing, vacuuming, and keeping children’s room clean.
• Helping with bath and bedtime routines.
• Running errands, such as grocery shopping or returning library books.

SKILLS

• Childcare skills: Feeding, bathing, dressing, and playing with children of various ages.
• Basic first aid: Ability to respond to minor injuries or illnesses.
• Organisational skills: Ability to managing household tasks like laundry, tidying, or scheduling.
• Cooking skills: Preparing meals or snacks, especially for children.
• Patience and empathy: Especially with young children or when supporting busy parents.
• Good communication: Listening to and following instructions from parents and communicating well with children.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality.
• Understanding of child safety, safeguarding, and first aid.

EXPERIENCES

• Previous experience babysitting, caring for younger siblings, or working with children in other settings (like camps or schools).
• Experiences of working with families from diverse backgrounds.
• Experience of supporting children with special needs.
• Basic first aid knowledge
• Experience of preparing simple, kid-friendly meals.

Qualifications

• Paediatric first aid Training (Preferred)
• DBS Check (Required)
• References from previous employer
